  1. Chinchero - Moray - Maras Full day

Departure from your hotel and short transfer by vehicle to the Chinchero plateaus overlooking one end of the Sacred Valley.

The day begins with the visit of the beautiful colonial church of the village and the archaeological site of Chinchero. Historically, this village controlled access to the Sacred Valley as well as trade in food between altitude and valley cultures. You can see beautiful Inca ruins and terraces used mainly for the cultivation of potatoes, the specialty of the region.

After the visit, it is time to get in the saddle enjoying the view of the Cordillera Urubamba and its snowy peaks over 6000 meters!

In the heart of these highlands, the path is a mix of ”single” and dirt track. It allows to join a mountain lake in pastel colors, overhung the Veronica mountain (6018m) and Salcantay (6271m), two mythical peaks of this mountain range.

The tour continues in the middle of cultures to reach the archaeological site of Moray and its terraces in concentric circles, a real open-air agricultural laboratory used at the time Inca.

    Lunch break.

The afternoon begins with a short descent and before stopping for a short time in the village of Maras where, for the more adventurous, it will be possible to taste the Chicha, local beer made from fermented corn in a very … artisanal way !

We keep the best, for the end with, as dessert, an incredible descent, on the Sacred Valley, slightly technical but very fun, through the famous sala Inca Maras, still active today. Visit the salt marshes before going down to the river at the end of the valley where the day ends.

    Return on Cusco in vehicle.
