From the high Andes to the sierra, crossing the vast plains of Patagonia with endless horizons, Argentina is paradise for lovers of road cycling.

Altitude

Soroche, or mountain sickness, is present throughout the Andean region; it must be taken into account during a stay in the Andes. The first days at altitude are used to acclimatize: do not hesitate to live a little in slow motion. If you walk faster than the local population ... slow down!

Money

The official currency of Argentina is the Argentine peso ($ Ar). The outstanding notes are worth 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 pesos. IMPORTANT: following a very strong inflation in recent years (about 35% per year), prices increase almost continuously and it is necessary to take this factor into account when preparing your trip.

Security

Argentina is one of the safest countries in Latin America. However, it is advisable to be attentive and avoid the ostentatious signs of wealth that can draw unnecessary attention. With rampant inflation, beware also of counterfeit bills of 50 and 100 $Ar in circulation especially in Buenos Aires.

Health

We strongly recommend to consult a specialized health-travel clinic in order to have the advice of qualified doctors in the field of health abroad. But to avoid digestive problems, it is first of all necessary to pay attention to water and prefer filtered or bottled water.
